Scotch is loving life with his new family......

Scotch has been with us since 9/20/08. He does enjoy his squeaky Kong, especially in the middle of the night. For some strange reason, it mysteriously disappears only to reappear the next day. He loves his yellow tennis ball, but I have to watch him carefully when tossing it to him-nothing is sacred when it comes to retrieving a ball.

He loves to snuggle, and is such a sweet boy. We took him into a pet store with his muzzle on, and a little boy told his mom, "look at the football dog, Mom!" I may have to get a jersey for him, put on his muzzle, and let him help me distribute candy on Halloween.

We have an outside calico cat (who has the same colors as Scotch), but they don't run in the same circles. The cat stays in the garage when Scotch is outside.

Scotch can gauge distances well. The first day he saw Spooky, the cat, he figured the shortest distance to get to her was going through the pool, so in he dove. What a smart dog! Only I had to point the steps out to him so he could swim on over and climb out. Then he had to stand there and let me hose him down getting the chlorine out and then drying him off with towels.

You can say I have "rescued" this Greyhound twice in one week.

Anyway, he's a good and sweet natured dog, eats well, walks on the leash well, and is just precious.

He sends his best to everyone!

Applying for a job

Hey, it's me - Scotch - again. Wow, this home life is really good. I've found out a lot about myself. Here's what I think; I am affectionate but not needy, I get along well with other greyhounds, I like playing with stuffie toys and chase balls, I am a good eater and a friendly, easy going guy. I enjoy a nice walk every day, and I walk really well on the leash - no tugging. My best trait is that I like to put my head in people's lap and let them rub my ears. Then I look up at them with my big soulful eyes, and the people just melt. Hey, I'm not bragging - I'm applying for a job. I want to be your greyhound! Whatdaya say? Come meet me!

So this is what a home is!

Hey, it's Scotch checking in here. I went to a foster home a few days ago, and I am learning so much! They say I'm a fast learner. I think that's good. So far, I have learned that I have to wait patiently for my dinner, I go tinkle outside, I get to sleep on soft pillows (amazing! I found my favorite already), and I am figuring out these things they call stairs. Going down is not so scary, but going up is a bit harder. It's worth it, though, because there are cool fluffy toys at the top of the stairs to play with. I'll let you know how things are going later; my new friends want to go for a walk.

Scotch, a true gent!

Scotch is a very well behaved and good natured boy. He seems to try to please and do everything you ask him to do. He is a very good leash walker, and enjoys the walks and the attention he gets during them. He has learned quickly how to be a gentleman in and out of the kennel. He seems to adapt easily to his surroundings and what is expected to him. He is a fast learner who wants to be loved and show you what a good boy he can be for you in your home!

Sunday night walks

Scotch has beautiful red brindle coat that looks kind of like a tiger! He and FBI were in the run together with us, and the 2 got along great! He was playful, but also very loving - a great balance!
